All forms of Allegra medicine (tablets, ODT and oral suspension) are contraindicated in patients with allergic reactions and hypersensitive reactions to fexofenadine.
Hypersensitivity reactions to this medicine are rare and may include: angioedema, chest tightness, dyspnea, flushing and systemic anaphylaxis.
Allegra medicine is indicated:
- For the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis. The medicine effectively and quickly stops the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis in adult and children patients from 2 years of age and older.
- For the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticarial. Allegra treats uncomplicated skin signs of chronic idiopathic urticaria in adult and children patients from 6 months of age and older.
The use of the medicine for other purposes not mentioned in the label should be first discussed with a doctor or any other medical professional.
Contraindications for use of Allegra can be individual hypersensitive response to the main component or other inactive components in the medicine. Besides, Allegra should not be prescribed and used by patients who have had previous allergic reactions to its main component fexofenadine hydrochloride.
